Life's like that sometimes

This picture is from the rainstorm last night. I went out onto my porch and took about a billion such photos, which all basically look the same. I feel that it's necessary to point out, though, that flash + rain = awesome. Now imagine a little mini camera flash like this times a billion, and you have each bolt of lightning. Pretty intense.

Today, however, it rained not a drop. I would just like to point out that I brought my umbrella and wore my bright red rain boots in preparation for another storm of such magnitude as yesterday's (when I learned that my cute brown shoes are not in fact waterproof, as I previously had believed), and it did not even drizzle. However it's thundering ominously now to the east... though tomorrow, having been lulled into a false sense of security, I will leave my umbrella and boots at home, and it will pour as it didn't even yesterday.

By the way, Armida was telling me that she's never seen rain like that in all the time that she's lived in Viterbo (like, since childhood, which would be 50 years or so). Freaky.
